Ann Merrell

Director of College and Career Readiness Programs

As Director of College and Career Readiness Programs, Ann manages the day-to-day operations of the various initiatives under the College Readiness and Access portfolio, including the Collegiate Scholars Program, UChicago Youth Internship Program, and Space Explorers. In this role, Ann oversees all summer and academic year program development and implementation including academic courses, college readiness workshops, career exploration opportunities, and more. She also ensures the successful annual admissions process for all CRA programming, including the recruitment and selection of new participants through partnerships with high school and community partners.

Before joining the Office of Civic Engagement in 2018, Ann served as the Student Programs Administrator at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She also previously coordinated youth and collegiate engagement at Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, NC. 

Ann has a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Spanish from Ohio Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Policy from Northwestern University.
